Mitsubishi Penmanship Triangular

These Mitsubishi Penmanship pencils are intended for ‘Kohitsu Shosha’ – practising Chinese calligraphy.  They’re dark, soft, brush-like, and have a wide core.  While not ideal for everyday writing given their softness, these pencils certainly have their fans for drawing, hand lettering, calligraphy, or just to write with something a bit special.

Unrelated to the car company, Mitsubishi Pencil Company was founded in Japan in 1887 and is considered one of the leading manufacturers of pencils still operating in Japan. Today they are also well known for their Uni-ball brand of products.
