Pencil Bundle: Set for Sketchers

These Tombow Penmanship pencils are intended for 'Kohitsu Shosha' - practising Chinese calligraphy.  They're dark, soft, brush-like and have a wide core.  While not ideal for everyday writing given their softness, these pencils certainly have their fans for drawing, hand lettering, calligraphy, or just to write with something a bit special. Tombow Pencil Co. was founded in 1913 in Japan. Tombow means ‘dragonfly’ in Japanese, as featured on their logo. Tombow no longer manufacture most lines of their pencil products in Japan, however maintain a very high level of quality. Made in Vietnam.

The Grafwood is Caran d'Ache's premium drawing pencil range, available in 15 different grades of graphite from 9B to 4H.  It's possibly one of the most beautifully designed pencils on the market, with each pencil's paint coloured to represent the grade of graphite.  The Grafwood is slightly thicker than normal pencils, and has a thicker core.  This pencil is great for writing as much as it is for drawing. Note: Due to this pencils slightly larger diameter, it will not fit in some regular sharpeners.  It will not fit in the Kum Single Hole Longpoint, however it will fit in the Kum Glass Bottle Sharpener. Established in Geneva in 1915, Caran d’Ache is a privately owned family company, making pencils to the high Swiss standard. Considered somewhat of a luxury brand, they are known for creating the first water-soluble pencils and inventing the clutch pencil. Made in Switzerland.

Faber-Castell Pitt Matt pencils were specially developed to reduce light reflections on the paper - the shiny finish typically seen with graphite pencils.  They include the world's first 14B pencil, and claim to use graphite as opposed to carbon or charcoal used by other matte pencils.  These pencils come in a range of 8 grades (HB, 2B, 4B, 6B, 8B, 10B, 12B & 14B). One of the most recognisable stationery brands on the planet, Faber-Castell’s history dates back to 1761.  Known in it's early days as the A.W. Faber Company, Faber-Castell manufacture around 2 billion pencils per year in their factories across the world. Made in Germany

The Hi-Uni represents the top-of-the-line graphite pencil created by the Mitsubishi Pencil Company. These pencils are impeccably designed, down to the smallest details including the gold band and small yellow mark on the end of each pencil.  The full range of Hi-Uni pencils come in 22 grades (10B to 10H).  These pencils are a dream to write and draw with, and are considered premium artist quality pencils. Unrelated to the car company, Mitsubishi Pencil Company was founded in Japan in 1887 and is considered one of the leading manufacturers of pencils still operating in Japan. Today they are also well known for their Uni-ball brand of products. Made in Japan.

The Faber-Castell Perfection Eraser features a white hard eraser at one end, and a pink soft eraser at the other.  It can be sharpened like a normal pencil, making it perfect for erasing in smaller spaces and for erasing fine detail.
