Caran d’Ache Swiss Wood – Scots Pine

This is one beautifully designed pencil, and is sure to make it into your favourites. The Swiss Wood is COBS Certified (certificat d’origine bois Suisse – or certified wood of Swiss origin), and made of Scots Pine from the Swiss Valais forest. It’s natural and unvarnished finish shows off the natural grain in the wood, and the pencil has a wonderful natural pine scent. This pencil is slightly larger in diameter than regular pencils.
Note: Due to this pencils slightly larger diameter, it will not fit in some regular sharpeners. It will not fit in the Kum Single Hole Longpoint, however it will fit in the Kum Glass Bottle Sharpener.
Established in Geneva in 1915, Caran d’Ache is a privately owned family company, making pencils to the high Swiss standard. Considered somewhat of a luxury brand, they are known for creating the first water-soluble pencils and inventing the clutch pencil.
